protocols Laboratory tests of blood coagulation and haemostatic evaluation are performed in several clinical conditions including suspected haemorragic diathesis; preoperative evaluation; monitoring of anticoagulant therapy; pre-analytical evaluation of screening for thrombophilia. The tests should be performed according to well established protocols, based on clinical suspicion, to avoid expensive costs. In this review we describe the diagnostic protocols.
